In times of trials and turmoil, it is comforting to remember that Heavenly Father loves all of His children and is mindful of each one of us. As we seek the Savior in faith, we will feel His goodness as He blesses our lives in multiple ways. We are told that the angels of heaven will be “round about you, to bear you up” (D&C 84:88). And in 1 Nephi, we learn that “the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance” (1 Nephi 1:20). These are profound promises to the faithful. Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve says that “tender mercies are the very personal and individualized blessings, strength, protection, assurances, guidance, loving-kindnesses, consolation, support, and spiritual gifts which we receive from and because of and through the Lord Jesus Christ. . . . The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times which we do now and will yet live” (“The Tender Mercies of the Lord,” Ensign, May 2005, 99).
