As Jesus Christ was in the very act of the Atonement, he said to his apostle John, “Behold thy mother” (John 19:27). This command is one for us to take to heart too. As President Jeffrey R. Holland reminds us, “No love in mortality comes closer to approximating the pure love of Jesus Christ than the selfless love a devoted mother has for her child.” In this short booklet, President Holland invites us to consider the ways in which our mothers are types of Christ and reflect on the eternal power and significance of a mother’s love.
